Ms. Léa Kulinowski, Senior Legal Consultant
Ms. Kulinowski leads PEJ’s investigative work in East Africa. She has 13 years of experience in the field of international justice, specialized in international criminal law, international humanitarian law and human rights. Since 2006, she worked on defence teams at International criminal tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, the Special Court for Sierra Leone, the International Criminal Court, the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia. Ms. Kulinowski worked on investigations of international crimes, evidence analysis, case management, trial litigation, appellate litigation as well as sentencing and victims’ participation.
In addition, Ms. Kulinowski is specialized in human rights law (especially fair trial rights, freedom of expression/assembly/ association, press freedom, protection of human rights defenders, judicial reform and rule of law) and in business and human rights (particularly land disputes, labor rights, investor and supply chain mapping and corporate accountability). She worked as a consultant on Business and Human Rights issues for Global Rights Compliance, and as a legal consultant for the Cambodian Center for Human Rights, where she continues to volunteer.
